Overview

The Preparatory Stage includes Grades 3 to 5 and is designed for children aged 8 to 11 years. Building on the Foundational Stage, this phase marks the transition to more structured and formal learning while still incorporating play, discovery, and activity-based methods. The focus during this stage is on strengthening literacy, numeracy, and conceptual understanding across various subjects. Children begin to develop higher-order thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills through interactive lessons and project-based learning. The teaching approach remains engaging and experiential but gradually introduces textbooks and classroom discipline to prepare students for the more academic Middle Stage. Assessments remain formative, focusing on regular observation and feedback.
